Introducing Layers#

A layer contains data representing specific features, such as your project site, classified vegetation, or buildings. In the web map, layers are stacked on top of one another, enabling you to visualise and analyse different types of information at once. You can toggle layers on and off, tailoring the map to showcase only the information relevant to your project.

Note

At certain zoom levels, some active layers might appear greyed out. You’ll need to zoom further in for these layers to become fully visible.

Let’s take a look at the different layers available in the web maps. We’ll provide descriptions for each, helping you understand their roles and how they can assist in developing your project.

Important

It’s important to note that some layers are state-specific, meaning that the options will differ based on the state you’re focused on.
